At TX First Trench Safety, we rent and sell a full line of manhole vacuum testers to include flat plate style and bladder style. This is used to test new, existing and rehabilitated manholes per “ASTM C1244”. By creating a vacuum in the manhole and then monitoring for vacuum loss, this will help identify infiltration and or ex-filtration problems should they occur which is less expensive and faster than water testing. Bladder style testers seal the inside diameter of the manhole cone whereas the flat plate style tester is designed to seal the manhole cone top surface. Our vacuum generators are available to convert a standard air compressor into a vacuum source.
